The Alliance for Greening Skills and Opportunities (AGSO) Hits a New Milestone

The Alliance for Greening Skills and Opportunities (AGSO) is excited to report another milestone in the National Green Skills Gap Baseline Survey. Following a successful piloting exercise, a diverse group of stakeholders from government ministries, training institutions, industry leaders and development partners came together on 23rd October 2025 to refine the draft survey tools. Designed to capture supply- and demand-side data across Kenya’s priority green sectors, participants reviewed the instruments for logic, completeness, clarity and relevance.

This successful gathering marks a key milestone in the validation process, ensuring that the survey instruments are robust, relevant, and aligned with the needs of Kenya’s emerging green economy. Participants collaborated to share insights and collectively strengthen the survey’s approach. The immediate next steps include revising the tools to incorporate stakeholder feedback and a final review to ensure that the labour market diagnostics adopted align with international best practice before the project moves into the next data-collection phase of implementation.

With this broad-based support, the Green Skills Gap Baseline Survey is moving forward with greater momentum, exemplifying how partnership and shared vision are driving the green skills agenda in Kenya.
