The realization of the Green Jobs Index has reached a significant milestone, marked by the successful conclusion of the 17 rooms process in New York. Over the course of the last four months, the dedicated efforts of Bilha Ndirangu, Sellah Bogonko, and Patrick McSharry (Professor, Carnegie Mellon University Rwanda) and the Room 8 members have been instrumental in leading the creation of a groundbreaking Green Workforce Readiness Index. This project has been part of the 17 Rooms initiative, jointly led by The Brookings Institution and The Rockefeller Foundation.
As we move forward to the next phase of the index design and implementation, we eagerly anticipate witnessing the Index in action and its meaningful contribution to helping countries measure and evaluate their progress in developing green economies and generating green jobs.
